Meet Moio.care – The smart care patch

Four million people are in need of care. In Germany alone. Due to the aging of society, experts estimate this number to grow another 30% until the year 2030. At the same time, we face a decline in caregivers with dramatic consequences for the most vulnerable people in our society. Thus, providing high-quality care with less personal becomes an even bigger challenge. Moio.care tackles this challenge with an intelligent device that can be applied like a plaster. The sensor of the moio.care system tracks important data like activity and location and informs professional caregivers as well as non-professional helpers if a patient needs help, e.g. if an elderly person falls or a patient suffering from dementia gets lost. Doing so, moio.care connects everyone involved in taking care of patients in need – enabling family members to do their best and saving professional resources at the same time. With their concept, the team of moio.care won the EY Public Value Award for Start-ups 2018! Meet moio.care at our StartUp-Event and learn more about the moio.care system and the technology behind it, the public and economic value they are creating, and check out the prototype. After the presentation, we will discuss the topic within our interdisciplinary health hacker community (physicians, caregivers, engineers, programmers, students, and hackers).
