One in three people over 65 falls at least once a year. By the age of 80 one person alone falls up to three times a year! This results in the treatment of more than[masked] patients yearly and has a tremendous impact on patients, caregivers, and the health care system. Many times, patients lose their mobility – one of the most important factors not only on the quality of life but also on mortality.

Lindera wants to change that. Using your smartphone camera for an AI-driven gait-analysis they enable rehabilitators, geriatricians, caretakers, relatives, and patients to assess each patient’s mobility individually – easily and everywhere. The objective assessment helps to identify patients at risk and thus helps to prevent the elderly from falling.

After the presentation, we will discuss the topic within our interdisciplinary health hacker community (physicians, caregivers, engineers, programmers, students, and hackers).

This event is part of the lecture “New technologies and methods for the future of healthcare”.
